This is the verbenone chemotype of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis ct. verbenone), distilled from the leaves and flowering tops. Grown in South Africa, it is naturally richer in verbenone and bornyl acetate than the cineole and camphor types, which gives it a softer, gentler character. Reputed to be reparative and purifying, it is a favourite in skin and hair care, and its fresh, herbaceous scent — with delicate camphor notes — makes it a fortifying, clarifying oil for body and mind alike.
